Pondering the achievement of God

Since its foundation it has experienced recommendable growth which is valuable, visible, tangible and convincing. No doubts, of late we have received new faithfuls who have overwhelming shown support to the ongoing activities of the church. The first church meeting of the Protestant Church was held at the Prison’s Canteen and as the number grew, we shifted to the Prison’s nursery class. At this time, the Church comprised of 15 members. The urge of coming up with a building to house the Church grew and with the help of the Officer in Charge of the Prison at the time, a piece of land was allocated for this purpose. With the help of Reverend Canon Mariga who was the priest of St. Paul’s Cathedral of the Anglican Church of Kenya and Reverend Thirika the then Provincial Chaplain Eastern Province the process of building the church began. Raising funds to construct the Church was no easy task but with the help of harambees arranged and conducted by the members, the foundation of the Church was finally laid by Reverend Peterson Kagame. This began the long journey that we as the Church took to get to the point we are at the moment. The Church was officially opened and consecrated by the Reverend Henry Kathii, Bishop of ACK Embu Diocese on the 7th of OCTOBER 2001.

St. Anne’s Protestant Church would not be where it is at the moment if it were not the assistance of: the office of REVEREND KARUME, ACK ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL, ACK St. ANDREWS DALLAS, ACK KAGUMORI, ACK All Saints MANYATTA, ACK RUKENYA, ACK KANJUU, ACK MUNYUTHA, PCEA IKUU, PCEA RUBATE, the former Co-operative Minister NJERU NDWIGA who is now the current Embu Senator, the late Bishop MOSES NJUE, Reverend Canon JANE NGURU, the current Bishop of ACK Church Embu Diocese, Rt. Reverend Peter Muriithi, ACK Embu Cathedral Provost Reverend Gichangi, Reverend Mercy Cathedral Women Fellowship, Brother GAKERE, All Protestant Churches Eastern Province, the Late Arch Bishop GITARI, former Mayor NYAGA, SSP MWANGANGI, former PPC MAINGI, OIC’S in Embu Main and Women, staffs and members of the church just to mention a few. We cannot forget to mention Regional Commander MR. OGORE, current OIC Embu Main MR. MUTEMBEI, former OIC Women ESTHER LOCHOTO and the outgoing OIC Women SARAH MULATYA.

Other developments carried out by the church include fencing of the church compound, putting up the gate, installation of a water tank, construction of a kitchen, buying of curtains, beautification of the church pulpit and currently construction of the Pastor’s house which is due for completion.
